Job Description

The role of the Infrastructure  Engineer - Technical Lead, focuses on the leadership of design and delivery of complex IT solutions essential for supporting enterprise operations.  Additionally, the role of the Technical Lead is to be a subject matter expert (SME) regarding virtualization technologies, Nutanix hyper converged platform and advanced Windows/Unix/Linux operating systems design.  The Infrastructure  Engineer – Technical Lead provides guidance in bridging the boundaries between architectural design and functional operations.


Strategy & Planning

  • Introduces solutions to complex problems which require the regular use of ingenuity and innovation. Ensures solutions are consistent with organizational objectives. Decisions are strategic in nature, have long-term consequence, and tend to relate to business strategy, financial performance and effective resource utilization.
  • Introduces new concepts, techniques, and standards. Considered expert in field within the organization.
  • Collaborate with various business entities to identify and lead strategic opportunities
  • Develop infrastructure architecture designs based on business objectives and opportunities
  • Develop and lead architected solution deployments, deliverables, and timelines
  • Interpret business needs into technical solutions consistent with established standards
  • Proactively identify, address and resolve technical and architectural deficiencies
  • Provide interim and completion status reports on projects and tasks to management
  • Develop departmental metrics and key performance indicators

Tactical Management

  • Serves as consultant to management on major matters pertaining to the policies, plans, and objectives.
  • Responsible for overall technical delivery associated with server infrastructure
  • Align self with company's business, goals, and strategic direction
  • Collaborate with business entities to determine IT requirements, solutions, reporting, and systems enhancements
  • Lead and execute server and storage solutions throughout enterprise
  • Evaluate and recommend new products and concepts for infrastructure enhancements
  • Lead strategic and tactical planning of infrastructure enhancements and innovation
  • Create guidelines, technological strategic goals, and other IT policies and procedures
  • Remain abreast of emerging technologies and how they can benefit Acelity business
  • Collaborate with other IT Team Leaders to develop enhancements and innovative improvements

Position Requirements

Knowledge & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer-related field or 10+ years of computer related experience in advanced systems engineering
  • Advanced knowledge with Nutanix  and AHV hypervisor
  • 3+ years of experience in designing, implementations, troubleshooting, managing and monitoring Nutanix Hyper converged solution
  • Experience on Nutanix appliance hardware including installation, configuration, and management of Nutanix hardware  
  • Advanced design, configuration, and troubleshooting of servers in a highly available and virtualized environment running open source operating systems such as RedHat Linux
  • Minimum 4+ years of experience  with Nutanix hyper converged platform
  • Minimum 10+ years of experience with RedHat/Oracle/CentOS Linux distributions
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience with Microsoft Windows operating systems
  • Minimum 7+ years of experience with VMware Datacenter offerings


  • Minimum 10+ years of experience with Citrix XenApp/XenDesktop technologies
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience  with Storage subsystems
  • Advanced knowledge of one or more scripting languages including batch, PowerShell, Python, and Perl
  • Experience in deploying public, private and hybrid cloud infrastructure solutions
  • NCP/NCAP/NPX Certification
