Job Description

The Government Accounts Director position is responsible for:

·         Development, execution, and communication of Government Account Strategic Plans for assigned DOD, VA and VISN agencies

·         Negotiating, developing, communicating and renewing profitable contracts (BPA's) with assigned Federal customers. 

·          Implementation of comprehensive contract rollout plans to insure and enhance growth, education, and service support to all accounts.

·         Providing strategic direction for the field sales organization, which leads to increased revenue, market share and profits

·         Communicating with our field sales organization on customer contracts and provide periodic updates on status and direction

·         Promoting availability as a resource on all aspects of contract negotiation and implementation

·         Converting key targeted revenue growth opportunities within the VA/DOD/PHS systems

Primary Duties/Responsibilities:

·         Develop and support relationships with assigned DOD, VISN, and VA Accounts

·         Develop and implement strategies and tactics for business retention and profitable growth within assigned Government Accounts and geography

·         Develop and present analysis and reports for the Government Accounts and field sales team assigned to those accounts. and customers and targets

·         Develop the strategy and tactics to convert target accounts

·         Review opportunity plans of target accounts for Capital and Disposables Sales.

·         Assist RVP’s VPSs in the development and implementation of VA/DOD/PHS system strategy and tactics and training

Position Qualification Requirements:

Basic Qualifications:

·         Bachelors degree in Business Administration or related field

·         At least 10 years experience in developing Government Business Accounts

·         Experience with Microsoft Office applications including:  Word, Excel, & Outlook

Other Position Qualifications:

In addition to the basic qualifications listed above, the following other position qualifications are required:

·         Experience developing, executing, and communicating Government Account Strategic Plans for DOD, VA and VISN agencies

·         Experience with medical device sales

·         Experience with Government Accounts

·         Demonstrated people management, planning & organizational skills

·         Demonstrated implementation, analytical and problem solving skills

·         Demonstrated communication and presentation skills

·         Demonstrated negotiation skills

·         Demonstrated forecasting skills

·         Demonstrated relationship management skills

·         Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion in business relationships and exercise sound business judgment

·         Ability to travel by commercial air service to attend scheduled business and corporate functions

Preferred Qualifications:

In addition to the basic qualifications and other required qualifications listed above, the following preferred qualifications also exist:

·         Masters degree in Business Administration or related field

·         Five years medical sales management experience

·         Experience with medical device management

·         Experience with Government Account management

·         Experience with Acquisition or Logistics Active Duty Military
