Senior Product Owner – Digital Wound Care

Job Summary:

As the Senior Product Owner, you will be responsible for presenting a clear vision of the Digital Wound Care product(s) serving as the Customer proxy responsible for working with Product Management and other stakeholders to define and prioritize stories in the Digital Wound Care backlog.  As a member of an Agile Team, you will be responsible for defining Stories and prioritizing the Team Backlog to streamline the execution of program priorities while maintaining the conceptual and technical integrity of the Features for the Digital Wound Care franchise.  This position will also act as Scrum Master for the offshore delivery teams.  The elaborations of the User Stories must be effectively prioritized so that they can help in estimations to present an evident timeline of the product – the key factor in aligning the teams to fulfilling the vision and delivery of software solutions.

Principle Responsibilities: (essential job duties and responsibilities)

  • As a member of the extended Product Management team, the PO is heavily involved in program backlog refinement and prep for planning.
  • PO is involved with story definition, providing the clarifications necessary to assist the team with their story estimates and sequencing.
  • With input from Solution Architect/Engineering and other stakeholders, the PO has the primary responsibility for building, editing, and maintaining the team backlog.  Consisting mostly of user stories, it also includes defects and enablers.  Backlog items are prioritized based on user value, time, and other team dependencies.
  • PO is the primary source for story detail and priorities and has the responsibility of accepting the final iteration plan.
  • Any team member can write stories and acceptance criteria, the PO has the primary responsibility for maintaining the flow.
  • PO is the only team member who can accept stories as done.  This includes validation that the story meets acceptance criteria and has the appropriate, persistent acceptance tests, and that it complies its Definition of Done (DoD).  PO assures a level of quality focusing primarily on fitness for use.
  • PO will collaborate with Solution Architect/Engineering to assist with decision-making and sequencing of the critical technological infrastructures that will host the new business functionality.
  • PO will be the Scrum Master for the offshore delivery teams.
  • PO has essential role in the team demo, reviewing and accepting stories.  PO will also participate in the Sprint Retrospective.
  • Helps champion the agile process to introduce new features and or functions to key stakeholders.
  • Manages relationships with key stakeholders on a day to day basis.
  • Collaborate effectively with other IT teams to implement new business process requirements on the new platform.
  • Work closely with QA teams to ensure requirements and testing criteria alignment.

Skills and Experiences:

  • Demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to bring various teams together and focus energy towards a common goal.
  • Experience working with offshore development resources.
  • Comfortable with leading and organizing large meetings.
  • Proven ability to gather solid requirements and acceptance criteria with all levels of leadership.
  • Capacity to be prescriptive with technical options while assisting stakeholders in prioritizing their needs.
  • Planning and executing system integration testing and user acceptance testing.
  • Efficient in working iteratively with development resources.
  • Well versed in project methodologies including both waterfall and agile.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BS degree in business, information systems, or a related filed or equivalent work experience.
  • At least 10 years of IT system analysis experience.
  • 8+ years working in an outsourced engagement model.
  • At least 5 years of experience working complex software development projects involving data integrations.
  • At least 5 years of experience working with offshore teams.
  • Programming experience.
  • At least 5 years working projects within the web/mobile/ecommerce digital segment.
  • 4+ years of healthcare industry experience.

Education:

  • Bachelors or Masters Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Mathematics or 10 years of experience in a related field
  • 10 years or more experience hands-on IT SaaS experience,
  • Proven record of achieving the needs of diverse stakeholders and clients
