Job Description


The Director, Human Resources serves as an HR leader and trusted advisor to the VP member(s) and below, as well as other leaders within the areas they support. This position will develop the plan of execution for the overall organizational talent management stategy and ensure execution through their HR team  in collaboration with the appropriate COEs. This individual will work with their business leaders and through their team members to ensure operational excellence with a focus on moving the organization forward.

PRINCIPLE RESONSIBILITIES:   (essential job duties and responsibilities)


  • Develop plan for, and drive execution of, the talent strategy that supports overall organizational strategies
  • Develop plan for, and drive execution of, the efffective implementation of new organizational structures
  • Lead/monitor the efforts to ensure MBO alignment and completion in respective client groups
  • Lead execution of talent integration efforts in mergers and acquisitioins


  • Develop contract terms for new hires, promotion, transfers for SLT -2; provide consultation to HR team members for other lower positions.
  • Partner with COE on hiring needs,  process improvements, and reporting
  • Interview Director/Sr. Director level applicants and participate in hiring decision


  • Consult with business leaders and COE to identify and plan deployment of development interventions to close  capability gaps
  • Provide assessment feedback SLT-2/-3
  • Develop and oversee execution of the retention strategy for client groups
  • Encourage and provide support for the execution of VP/Dir personal development plans
  • Lead talent review and succession planning process for appropriate levels within client group
  • Facilitate advanced leadership training where needed


  • Interpret data from exit interviews SLT-2 and based upon findings, modify retention strategy where appropriate
  • Provide consultation to business leaders on organizational communications/announcements/change plans
  • Lead execution and monitor effectiveness of change management strategies


  • Address or provide consultation for escalated or complex employee issues; solicit guidance from VP, legal where appropriate


  • Provide direction in the performance of HR team member duties; establish overall priorities and ensure successful achievement of organizational initiatives that support improved performance and business results
  • Build and provide support for an environment of continued learning and development with their HR team members.


  • Partner with business leaders to determine immediate and/or future talent needs 
  • Leverage advanced use of HR analytics for proactive management of human capital
  • Analyze trends and metrics in partnership with COE to develop solutions, programs and policies


  • Identify and/or address Total Rewards issues and partner with COE on solutions (VP/Dir level)
  • Partner with client group leaders to develop compensation proposals; consults with Total Rewards COE on complex transactions.

  • A minimum of 10+ years of human resource management experience, of which 4 years should be at the management level
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field of study from an accredited college or university.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed. Anticipated as a maximum of 15-20%.


  • Current  PHR/SPHR Certification
  • Demonstrated HR leadership in a large-scale, matrixed, global structure
  • Ability to drive and support organizational change
  • Knowledge of human resource processes, procedures and practices in a global organization
  • Demonstrated ability to develop effective plans for execution of overall strategy in a rapidly changing environment
  • Experience in partnering with COEs
  • Exceptional client and peer relationship management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and maintain successful consultative relationships with VP/mid-level leaders
  • Demonstrated competence in effective prioritization of multiple projects
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including:  Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook
  • Medical device/related industry experience
  • Experince in developing plans for the execution of strategy through a merger/acquisition
