Acelity is seeking an internal communications manager to support the sales leadership team as a communications advisor and strategist. The role will partner across teams to shape messaging and help leaders communicate authentically and transparently. The manager is responsible for informing, motivating and inspiring teams across the US, skillfully managing and assisting leaders with their communications. The role will be responsible for designing the strategy and execution for sharing compelling information internally.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Define and execute an internal communications plan for sales leadership that reinforces business strategy, cultural values and company updates
  • Partner with the Corporate Communications and HR teams to successfully roll-out global programs to the sales team in a timely manner.
  • Define and drive the execution of a communication governance process to receive, coordinate, and deliver communications to the sales organization
  • Partner closely with the sales leaders and key stakeholders to develop and manage the internal communication program
  • Advise leadership team on change management communications; draft messaging that can be delivered across a wide variety of internal channels
  • Develop and implement internal messaging guidelines, approaches, and cadences that best enable cross-team communication and the effective cascading of critical information
  • Regularly attend department meetings throughout the business to listen and collect feedback and information to develop relevant and timely communications

  • Ability to distill complicated ideas into succinct messaging
  • Experience in leveraging new and innovative technology to effectively share messaging with employees.
  • Proven experience in challenging the status quo, thinking differently and challenging cultural norms with diplomacy
  • Possess a deep understanding of how to connect people to ideas in a way that moves them to action
  • Ability to build trust and strong relationships with key partners internally and externally
  • Exceptional communicator with outstanding oral, written, editing and presentation skills
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Self-starter, who is agile and comfortable working in an environment where priorities can change quickly
  • A ‘big-picture’ thinker, with the ability to provide timely, strategic and tactical guidance to teammates and cross-functional business partners

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university with a degree in Communications, Marketing, Business or related field
  • A minimum of 6 years of experience developing communications programs that engage and motivate employees for a for-profit organization
  • A demonstrated working knowledge of and interest in the US healthcare system
  • Ability to influence the development of appropriate and effective messaging with key stakeholders of all levels across a large, multifaceted organization
  • Strong project management skills, effectively prioritizing workload to focus on the highest value activities
  • Ability to successfully partner with teammates located around the world while working in a matrix environment
