Job Description

The Acelity Virtual Therapy Specialist provides education to patients and guidance to clinicians using Acelity products as part of a comprehensive wound care plan. The Virtual Therapy Specialist follows patients in conjunction with primary care providers to support any challenges the patient or provider may have effectively using prescribed therapies.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Support improved clinical and economic outcomes for customers by:

  • Educating patients on the importance of using therapies in accordance with provider recommendations
  • Interacting with patients telephonically to understand challenges with use of Acelity therapies in the home care setting and troubleshooting issues
  • Escalating issues to patient care givers in order to support overall adherence and appropriate use of prescribed therapies
  • Capture and maintain all pertinent data related to patient and care giver interactions throughout use of Acelity therapies
  • Utilize one’s  understanding of Acelity technology to problem solve and trouble shoot abnormalities and decide upon the appropriate course of action.

Adhere to all KCI policies, procedures, and guidelines including Product Placement & Transfer/Assistance Policy.

SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Complete essential business-tracking requirements by:

    Capturing and maintaining interaction activity data

    Assisting  in collection of necessary documents and paperwork when required

    Providing feedback to leadership to support improved program performance

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Current license by the State of Texas as a LVN/LPN
  • Minimum 3 year of direct patient care in a clinical setting or job related clinical support experience (i.e. Telephonic Patient Consultation/Education)
  • Experience with MS Office applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook

  • Demonstrated time management and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated ability to operate independently and efficiently, without supervision
  • Demonstrated ability to deal effectively with customers, employees and business contacts, while conveying a positive service oriented attitude
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion in all business dealings
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment, eliciting support and cooperation from co-workers
  • Ability to engage in self-appraisal and continuous learning
  • Demonstrated presentation and communication skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Nursing experience with wound care management
