Job Description

1.SUMMARY:

This position will be responsible for assisting with development and driving implementation of sales training and development programs for new and existing field sales team members, for post-acute sales channels. The Sales Development Manager (SDM) is responsible for effectively incorporating sales strategies into all phases of the formalized training program. The SDM will develop and deliver programs that include product, disease state, call points, care setting and selling skills training. SDM will coach sales representatives and provide written performance evaluations to field sales management. The SDM will collaborate with the Director Sales Training, various internal departments and Business Partners (e.g. Marketing, Medical and Sales Management), and external resources to create, update and deliver training and development programs that reinforce key business drivers, leverage best practices and increase overall productivity of the sales force.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist with development and have ownership of delivering training programs for new hires and existing sales team members, including corporate sales training programs, field-based sales training programs and online learning programs
  • Develop an understanding of key business drivers and how to translate into effective training programs that develop selling skills across the Acelity sales organization
  • For Post-acute sales and clinical representatives, understanding of best practices by care setting and how to utilize skills to help drive these best practices across the sales organization
  • Build and demonstrate outstanding knowledge of Acelity products and programs in order to effectively deliver product training
  • Build a strong knowledge base of competitor products in order to train sales force on Acelity product advantages and differentiating factors
  • Prepare training material for all training courses and workshops
  • Coordinate all activities related to the planning, development and delivery of sales training
  • Implement training schedule that meets the needs of the post-acute sales organization
  • Provide coaching to sales representatives during training and verbal and written evaluations to field management post-training
  • Continually review sales training programs and make necessary updates and improvements to ensure sales strategies are effectively incorporated
  • Track effectiveness of training programs and make recommended improvements and enhancements
  • Deliver formal and informal presentations to sales representatives, sales management and internal departments

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor Degree in Business or related field
  • 3 years of sales experience in the medical device or related industry.

OTHER REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Demonstrated ability to understand and communicate clinical information
  • Ability to understand business strategy and key drivers and translate into effective training programs
  • Understanding and documented implementation of adult learning principles
  • Knowledge of the health care industry
  • Coaching and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with MS Office software (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)
  • Experience utilizing a Learning Management System (LMS), Video Role Play, Project Management and Exam building software/platforms
  • Demonstrated presentation and facilitation skills
  • Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills.
  • Previous sales experience and proven track record of sales success
  • Ability to excel in a team environment
  • Ability to balance short term goals with a strategic vision
  • Demonstrate creativity and resourcefulness

4.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • One year of Sales Training experience in the medical device, pharmaceutical or other related industry preferred
  • Field Sales Training and/or Advisor experience preferred
