JOB SUMMARY: Acelity is seeking a dynamic, creative and energetic Corporate Communications Intern to support our growing global Corporate Communications team. In this position, you’ll provide internal and external support on Corporate Communications materials for all business segments. We are ideally looking for a graduating senior or recent graduate who is a team player that can deliver on results and is not afraid to think outside the box. This internship is a paid position, and candidates must be able to commit to 40 hours per week.

PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES (essential job duties and responsibilities):

  • Draft and distribute copy for internal communications materials, including but not limited to employee emails, announcements, newsletter articles and Intranet posts
  • Assist with visual asset organization, including managing a content library, uploading new items as necessary
  • Work with the Internal Communications team to complete tactical elements for Town Hall meetings and corresponding events
  • Learn the fundamentals and logistics of event planning from conception to execution
  • Demonstrate behaviors associated with Acelity Shared Values (Customer First, Integrity, A Will to Win, One Acelity)

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience in communications or public relations

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Recent college graduates are encouraged to apply
  • Prior communications/PR internship background preferred, but not required
  • Basic understanding and interest of the field of Communications
  • Experience with SharePoint and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Design experience a plus
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and writing skills
  • Excellent prioritization, organization, problem solving and time management skills
  • Ability to multi-task and complete projects under high-pressure deadlines within a large organization
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to maintain complete confidentiality and discretion in business relationships and exercise sound business judgment

EDUCATION:

  • Undergraduate student currently enrolled in a University or College (minimum Junior year completed)
  • Pursuit of Bachelor’s degree in Communications or relevant field

PROJECT TITLE: Building a Solid Foundation for Communication at Acelity

PROJECT SCOPE AND DELIVERABLES:

Purpose:

To support internal and external communications by updating content to be consistent across businesses, departments and geographies, and to aid in the elevation of content to employees that supports our vision, mission and values.

Scope:

Corporate Communications Intern will work with both the Internal and External teams to ensure that content produced is updated and reflective of the Acelity vision, mission and values. Intern will manage content on digital, email and internal channels via the direction of the Manager of Internal Communications.

Deliverables to include:

  • Manage internal projects as assigned
  • Support for global Town Hall planning and execution
  • Craft and distribute internal messaging via channels, including email, Intranet and digital monitors
