JOB SUMMARY: Acelity is seeking a dynamic, creative and energetic Social Media Intern to support our growing global Corporate Communications team. In this position, you’ll be responsible for coordinating with the Internal and External Communications teams to execute the Company’s social media strategy, working across key social media channels. We are ideally looking for a graduating senior or recent graduate who is a team player that can deliver on results and is not afraid to think outside the box. This internship is a paid position, and candidates must be able to commit to 40 hours per week. 

PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES (essential job duties and responsibilities): 
•    Work with the External Communications team to monitor Acelity social channels and industry news/trends to inform social media calendar
•    Support Internal and External Communications team, developing social media content in conjunction with corporate milestones as assigned 
•    Post regular updates to Company social media channels (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, Glassdoor) under supervision of director
•    Assist with visual asset organization, including managing a content library, uploading new items as necessary 
•    Demonstrate behaviors associated with Acelity Shared Values (Customer First, Integrity, A Will to Win, One Acelity)

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
•    Experience in communications or public relations 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
•    Recent college graduates are encouraged to apply
•    Prior communications/PR internship background preferred, but not required
•    Basic understanding and interest of the field of Communications 
•    Strong social media experience across multiple platforms (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, Glassdoor)
•    Experience with social media resources, including Hootsuite 
•    Strong interpersonal, communication and writing skills
•    Excellent prioritization, organization, problem solving and time management skills
•    Ability to multi-task and complete projects under high-pressure deadlines within a large organization 
•    Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
•    Ability to maintain complete confidentiality and discretion in business relationships and exercise sound business judgment
 

EDUCATION:

• Undergraduate student currently enrolled in a University or College (minimum Junior year completed) 
•    Pursuit of Bachelor’s degree in Communications or relevant field

Scope: 
Social Media Intern will work with both the Internal and External teams to ensure that content produced is updated and reflective of the Acelity vision, mission and values. Intern will manage content on social media via the direction of the Director of External Communications.
