Job Description

The ideal candidate will be able to apply healthcare knowledge of sales and customer data, as well as plan performance, across multiple lines of business and selling roles to develop insights and key factors driving business performance.  Additionally, s/he will have the expertise to lead the transformation of the team toward a more advanced (predictive/prescriptive) analytics orientation, driving to evolve the team into a proactive, strategic partner in helping to influence key business decisions.  A deep understanding of Big Data concepts, and associated technical skills and tools is a critical foundation to support the need to leverage the company’s vast data landscape.  Further, as s/he will oversee Sales Operations communications to the sales organization and executive leadership, strong and polished communication skills, demonstrated by applicable experience, is essential.

Reports to Sr Director, Data & Analytics

Primary Duties / Responsibilities

  • Oversee effort to leverage operational and transactional data analytics as a core competency in improving sales efficiency and customer experience
  • Responsible for leading, training, and mentoring the Sales Analytics team, providing strategic guidance and task prioritization, implementing quality control protocols, and ensuring operational excellence
  • Manage relationship with third-party partner contracted to perform core reporting functions
  • Acts as an internal consulting resource for business partners and broader analyst community for applying leading techniques, interpreting data, understanding implications for business function strategy, tactics and ongoing operations
  • Applies leading-edge analysis tools and techniques to determine and/or predict trends, correlations and causal relationships between variables
  • Oversee analytical practices and deliverables, ensuring alignment with business initiatives
  • Creates and manages complex ad-hoc reports, using insights from data exploration to build comprehensive reports with visualizations and insights
  • Implement leading and lagging metrics ensuring timely deliverables and performance tracking on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis
  • Demonstrate forward thinking by anticipating and remediating potential roadblocks, comprehending the bigger picture of the business strategy
  • Consult with sales leadership on growth opportunities, motivational models, and regional and territory recommendations and investment strategies
  • Manage internal and client expectations on regular analytic deliverables as well as ad-hoc analytic projects
  • Communicate and collaborate effectively with sales leadership to influence field execution
  • Explain data to business partners and prepare them to present data and answer complex/unique questions
  • Develop a close collaboration with technology partners to strengthen alignment between business data applications, implications and technical architecture
  • Collaborate with internal business and technology stakeholders to establish quality standards ensuring data quality and integrity and build redundancies in knowledge base
  • Act as the voice of Sales Operations, coordinating and funneling all communications to the sales organization

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Analytics, Healthcare Analytics, Data Analytics, Data Science, Finance, or related major; Master’s Degree preferred
  • 12+ years’ experience in data analytics, preferably at a medical device or other healthcare company, including 5+ years managing an analyst team
  • Experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) business processes/systems (specifically Salesforce) and Big Data architectures, including data lake / warehouse and BI solutions (specifically Tableau, Salesforce Lightning/Einstein and/or PowerBI)
  • Advanced analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to navigate large and complex data sets making insightful observations and identifying relevant patterns, as well as the ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines
  • Demonstrated expertise in establishing methodologies and implementing structured ways of analyzing business problems
  • Excellent communication skills with executives and other internal stakeholders, catering to various levels of analytical proficiency
  • Strong mentoring and coaching aptitude; listens effectively, demonstrates empathy towards individual concerns and drives conflict resolution; promotes a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, as required, in a fast-paced, matrixed, team environment consisting of internal and external team members.
  • Excellent planning, organization and time management skills including the ability to support and prioritize multiple projects.
  • Results oriented: Attention to detail, organized, and able to multi-task on multiple initiatives
  • Intense curiosity and passion for data, analytics and research
  • Prior experience with SQL, R, Python, or other related programming languages is preferred

Travel Requirements

  • Office-based position
  • 10-20% within US (field visits and meetings)
