Job Description

Job Summary:  Primary designer and executor of sales deployment strategies for Acelity’s North American sales force.  Working with the Director of Sales Operations, the Sr. Analyst will build & analyze complex data models to quantify the value of accounts, carve out territories, and help negotiate territory changes with the sales management teams to influence sales team productivity.  Comfort with unstructured data and BI platforms are essential, as is strong business acumen, including the understanding of business hierarchies and subsidiary relationships.  Lastly, this position will interact with various sales leaders and will be responsible for influencing growth models to enable Acelity to grow at scale for future years.

Principle Responsibilities: (essential job duties and responsibilities)

  • Strategic influential business partner to both the internal teams and the sales management teams
  • Implement a culture of high quality, innovation, and analytical insight to process goals, territory plans, rep productivity, and other performance measurements.  For example, build analytical models to predict and report on deployment decisions and increased sales productivity, providing guidance and influence throughout the process
  • Create, join, and manage complex data sets into a comprehensive data visualization platform (BI tools, Excel, etc) that can be used to drive root cause analysis of problems
  • Support business decisions by providing reports, as needed, on market potential opportunities, competition/market share, and promotional ROI
  • Analyze sales force structure and provide recommendations for improving efficiency and access to opportunity
  • Assess necessary changes to systems, reporting, and analytics and implement structure changes accordingly
  • Prepare and present to senior management team analyses which efficiently distill data and demonstrate major business trends and issues (leveraging Excel, PowerPoint or any other technologies)
  •  Develop, implement, and monitor Territory Business Planning tools and processes
  • Work with North American sales leaders to design and maintain sales coverage models by providing timely and accurate analysis to evaluate gaps, strategy, and improve the deployment process
  • Consult with sales leadership to provide industry insight to pair sales resources and skill sets with customer needs in a comprehensive deployment strategy.  For example, work with Sales Leaders to negotiate territory changes within the sales team
  • Create a plan to manage account meta-data for industry, company size, account potential, etc. to improve account segmentation
  • Mediate and resolve account disputes among sales teams and sales people, as necessary, with proven ability to weigh both sides of an argument and make an objective decision
  • Document sales rules of engagement and communicate changes
  • Create and document formalized processes to coach the sales team toward consistent best practices
  • Track impact of changes in deployment and coverage models to sales teams and individuals
  • Work to identify data gaps and recommend processes to improve and maintain data accuracy in other reporting platforms (i.e. – CRM systems)

Skills and Experiences:

  • Strong business & data modeling, with thorough analysis experience/ability is required
  • Strong ability to influence sales teams in helping them achieve a balance b/w their goals and the company’s overall strategy
  • Demonstrated ability as an effective business partner to support areas
  • Advanced/expert proficiency in MS Office suite, particularly Excel, Access, and Power Point applications
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy and integrity of analytics
  • Some reasonable travel may be required
  • Ability to think independently and challenge existing norms for the benefits of the sales teams and the business
  • Ability to plan and execute multiple projects concurrently with accuracy and strict attention to detail and follow-up

Minimum Qualifications:

• 5 years of experience supporting Sales Organizations, either internal or client projects (4 years with MBA)

•Adept at integrating disparate information, correlating data, and understanding data trends

•Proven ability to analyze and communicate complex business problems in simple terms

•Demonstrated ability to influence business partners in various leadership roles

•Experience designing and building reports & dashboards leveraging multiple data sources

•Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively while also ensuring accuracy of work through attention to detail

•Able to deal with ambiguity in a fast-paced growth environment

•Experience working with business intelligence tools

Preferred Qualifications:

MBA degree or pre-MBA with strategy / operations consulting experience

•Strong familiarity with BI platforms, data visualization, and territory systems

•Experience with territory planning tools / software (i.e. – JavelinTerritory Designer)

•Strong working knowledge of sales organizations, sales quotas, and CRM platforms (i.e.

•Comfortable negotiating and arbitrating with Sales Leaders for coverage disagreements

•Experience leading complex projects in consulting role or internal project management capacity


BA/BS degree in Finance, Marketing, or related field required.  Master’s degree preferred
